Proposal for 2 Tier Senior Football Championship

Round 1: Round Robin Group Knock Out Stages Benefits of such a Structure
Tier 1

Round 1 to consist of 8 groups of 4. Groups are tiered initially on League Basis for 2020, but fluid motion from then on with teams being re-graded from Tier 1 to Tier 2 based off previous year’s performance e.g. 4th place team in Tier 1 groups 1-4 is replaced in Tier 1 by the 1st place teams in Groups 5-8, so that 4 teams get “relegated” and “promoted” each year, so form teams are rewarded

Each team to play 1 home match, 1 away match and 1 neutral match in group 1.

Sam Maguire Cup 1.)    Introduction of a 2 Tier championship, as deemed necessary by Uachtarain John Horan.

2.)    Still allows every team to play for and compete in the Tier 1 Championship, depending on results.

4.)    Ensures “perceived lower level” teams get a chance to compete with the top teams, but only after the excel at their level.
